Having learned these stony abstracts of nature don't appeal to everyone, they've been set apart in their own section. In more youthful travels, I've been known to pack 100 pounds of rocks in my baggage on the way home. Now I resist picking up beautiful stones, but still cannot help but at least photograph them. Whether it's cracks, colors, lichen patterns, graceful sculpting by erosion, or mosaics of smooth pebbles, I find the art in the Earth's stonework to be fascinating and beautiful.
